Job Description Summary

Welds metal components together with resistant welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, motors, and generators by performing the following duties.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Welds metal parts together using resistant projector welding processes.

Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products

Compares workpiece with sample part to verify conformance to specifications.

Education and/or experience:
Less than high school education with up to three months related experience or training

Language skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and effectively present information in a one on one and small group situations to other employees.

Mathematical skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions and to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat and reach, grasp, push and pull using arms and legs. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics describes here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level and air quality are usually moderate. The employee will encounter hydraulic and other oils as well and various types of metal components. **Department Hours are subject to change based on customer demands! ** Employees in this department should be prepared as hours change and can do so by request of the plant manager due to customer demands**.

General Hours 1st shift (8 hours) 7am – 3:30pm, (10 hours) 7am – 5:30pm

General Hours 2nd shift (8 hours 3:30pm – 12am, (10 hours) 5:30pm – 4am

(1/5/2021) Effective Immediately:
ALL PLANTS WILL BE ON THE BREAK SAME SCHEDULE

1st Shift: 10-minute break @ 9:00 am, 30-minute Lunch break @ 12:00 pm

2nd Shift : 10 minute break @ 5:30, 30 minute break @830

Overtime and weekends are required when requested by our department manager, plant manager, due to customer demand. We have been known to work Monday – Sunday. This department does not typically work Sundays, but they can ask should a customer or our production drive us to need to do so.
