Role: Welder or Apprentice Welder I Canada

Location: Kamloops, Canada

LOTS Group Canada, is a local forestry and transport company in Kamloops, BC, and we are growing. Our facility in Kamloops includes a modern 10 bay shop, service trucks, and parts department. Not only do we support our company owned logging trucks and equipment, but we also support a variety of external fleet customers.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for any welding and fabricating repairs in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) along with the following duties:

Key activities:

  • Variety of Commercial Transport and Heavy-Duty welding & fabricating opportunities
  • Heavy equipment maintenance and field work opportunities (Local job – no camp)
  • Log truck rigouts
  • Assist lead Welder with jobs or duties as required
  • Keep a clean, organized (5S), safe work environment
  • Ensure company equipment and tools are maintained and in good condition
  • Ensuring paperwork flow is kept to process’ standards and well organized
  • Undertake any other shop duties as assigned

Skills/Experience

  • Must have Stick, MIG and air arc experience
  • Aluminum MIG experience, an asset
  • Ability to lift heavy materials safely (up to 25kg and within reason)
  • Completion of the Welder Foundation program, or enrolled in Apprenticeship Program
  • Experience working on heavy equipment, an asset
  • Forklift experience
  • Mechanical ability and experience, an asset
  • Valid Operator’s License (Class 1 considered an asset)
  • Class 5 Drivers license, required
  • Organized, prompt, courteous, helpful mindset, and a team player
