Overview

Refrigeration Vessels & Systems, Corp. (RVS) located in Bryan, Texas is searching for the ideal candidate to fill the position of ASME Code Welder/Pipefitter. RVS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of EVAPCO, Inc., We are an industry leading manufacturer of pressure vessels and package systems used in the Industrial Refrigeration and Oil & Gas industries.

ASME Code Welder/Pipefitters are responsible for welding all features onto the vessel including but not limited to nozzles, heads, flanges, test connections, internals among other specified items. ASME Code Welder/Pipefitter are also responsible for cleaning the vessel when complete to be ready for inspection and paint. The typical working hours for ASME Code Welder/Pipefitter on First Shift, are 8 hours per day, 5 days per week; 10 hours per day, 4 days a week for Second Shift.


Job Qualifications
: (placement in job classification is dependent on skill level and experience)

Prior welding experience is required. ASME Code Welder/Pipefitters must pass RVS’ welding test prior to being permitted to weld on any pressure boundary. Training is provided but general knowledge of welding is required.

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Welder/Pipefitter Apprentice: Basic skill sets attained but requires supervision & continued skill set training. Proficient with semi-automatic welding processes (minimum GMAW-P of pipe using positioning equipment. Typically, 1 or more years of related experience

Welder/Pipefitter: Works independently with general supervision. Typically, has 3 or more years pipefitting and welding experience Proficient with GMAW-P, SMAW, and GTAW of pipe in all positions on both carbon steel and stainless steel. Maintains an 85% efficiency rating, 90% RT/UT and 95% leak acceptance rating

Senior Welder/Pipefitter: Works independently with minimum supervision. Typically, has 5 or more years pipefitting and welding experience including reading and understanding a P&ID. Proficient with GMAW-P, SMAW, and GTAW of pipe in all positions on both carbon steel and stainless steel. Maintains above 90% efficiencies rating, 95% RT/UT and 98% leak acceptance rating.


Physical Requirements
:

Work is performed in a non-temperature regulated shop environment in a variety of weather conditions such as sun, rain, wind, heat, cold. While appropriate safety protection is always required to be worn in the shop, ASME Code Welder/Pipefitters will be exposed to noisy conditions. Constant standing and walking, as well as frequent lifting of of up 25 lbs, climbing of ladders, kneeling, squatting, crouching, and reaching are but some of the physical demands of the position. The use of welding machines, grinders, heavy machinery such as overhead cranes, turning rolls, and man lifts are some of the equipment that is utilized.
