Job Description
Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using lasers or levels cover pipe with earth or other materials connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement or glue Cut pipes to rquired lengths Install or rapair sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe systems Install sumps Install pump systems inside sumps (storm and or sewer) Install or use instruments su ch as lasers, grade rods or transit levels Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools layout pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinayting laoyouts with supervisors Align and position pipes to preapre them for welding or sealing Dig trenches at desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools Operate mechanized equpiment such as excavators, skid steers and loaders Locate exisitng pipes needing reapir or replacement Train or supervise others in laying pipe Tap and drill holes into pipe and introduce auxillary lines or devices Voluntary completion of apprenticeship oin drianlaying or equivalent field experience
