Overview

Craftsmen Contractors is hiring for a Structural Welder for wash dock at a barge repair yard for the Vacherie, La. area. The job consists of doing small welding jobs, resets and pumping tanks. This is a long term position with an opportunity for advancement. The schedule is working day shifts Monday thru Fridays and occasional weekends/overtime. This position is good for someone who is just starting out as a Welder and is ready to gain some actual Welder experience and knowledge.

Job pays $17 – $17.50 per hour.

Job Duties:

  • Cutting and joining metal together.
  • Lift some heavy objects from time to time.
  • Cut metals into the appropriate shape.
  • Smooth molten metal to remove creases.
  • Will do resets and help pumping tanks.
  • Some general labor tasks including clean-up, washing dock and moving materials.

Job Requirements:

  • Will have to pass a welding test – vertical, overhead and flat.
  • Need to have basic hand tools and ALL PPE.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
