We are seeking Journeyperson Ironworker to help support our one of our projects at one of Cameco’s Northern sites.

Job Summary: The Ironworker will perform demolition and installation of steel structures and supports with some welding based on engineered drawings, and other duties as assigned.

Start: Immediately

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Complete job hazard assessment and put mitigation strategies into place on a task-by-task basis
  • Take direction and perform tasks with minimum supervision
  • Read engineered drawings and specifications to lay out the work
  • Direct a small crew to erect steel
  • Safe rigging and hoisting of components into position utilizing manual hoisting devices, cranes, and other mobile equipment
  • Able to weld components in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions
  • Determine materials required for each job and able to effectively plan task sequence
  • Complete safe demolition of existing steel structures
  • Follow all safety requirements and report any unsafe working conditions according to Company Policy

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an industrial/construction work environment.
  • Registered Journeyman Ironworker
  • Safety Certification Required:

o WHMIS 2015

o Fire Extinguisher Training

o Fall Protection

o CWB all position welding certificate

o AWP

o Rigging and Hoisting Cert
