Overview
As a Pre-Fabrication Manager, Mechanical Construction you:
Ensure all work in the shop is executed in the safest manner possible
Ensure all work is completed in the level of quality required to satisfy the client.
Participate in pre-construction meetings to evaluate the Pre-Fabrication scope
Aware of project goals and milestones- timing of deliverables
Participate in Plan Group’s T.I.M.E. efficiency program which will aid in the completion of tasks
Coordinate with the shop coordinator on execution & delivery schedules
Review and comment on spool drawings prior to fabrication
Track all material and heat numbers
Coordinate with TSSA when required
Verify completed work with the fabrication drawings prior to delivery
Facilitate loading, tracking and shipping completed work
Work closely with the Safety Department- PSI- weekly and monthly audits.
Proactive management of shop manpower
Co-ordinate deliveries
Co-ordination with equipment vendors to ensure installation details are performed correctly
Responsible for tools/equipment and rentals pertaining to the shop
Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients and consultants
Develop & maintain shop standard catalogue
Our ideal candidate has:
Mechanical Engineering post-secondary education or progressive experience in the following areas of industrial manufacturing supervision, production control, and production management in a metal fabrication environment.
Solid understanding of labor planning
Familiar with process flow concepts and shop floor controls
