Brunswick’s Integrated Manufacturing Center (BIMC), located in Merritt Island, Florida, supports the growth and development of Sea Ray, Boston Whaler and other Brunswick boat brands. This location, formally a Sea Ray Sport Yacht and Yacht facility, centralizes Brunswick’s vertical integration capabilities to deliver efficient, cost effective capacity and productivity planning to the Brunswick boat brands.

Job Description​

Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reads prints and is responsible for bracing on a large boat. Frequently leads helpers or crew in bracing. Glasses foam holes, structural glass tie ins, cosmetic work and gray gelling of hull interior; performs inside hull work, grinds, scrapes, glasses and sprays gel coat.

Installs wood bracing in hulls; assists in controlling material usage in area. Typically requires a high school education and a year or more of related boat building experience.

Work hours: Typically 4 days per week at 10 hours per day, but times will be adjusted as demands require. Weekend work is scheduled according to workload and as repair needs dictate.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The candidate must have prior knowledge and experience in the following areas, and must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodation:

A minimum of 1 year of related boat building experience required; 3 years fiberglass lamination experience preferred

Ability to adjust labor according to production needs

Ability to audit departmental work areas

Ability to maintain and adjust resin guns and pumps

Ability to Multi-Task

Proven leadership qualities, including positive attitude, good attendance and promotion of good morale

Ability to train

Ability to maintain responsibility for a large crew of employees

Good verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of BOM and make adjustments as needed (Internal process current employees should be familiar with only)

Ability to read and understand production schedules

Knowledge of work areas and job tasks

Working knowledge of procedures, instructions, and documents as it relates to the quality system

High school diploma/GED

Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and disposal

Hand tool knowledge

Knowledge of mechanical objects

Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment, using protective clothing and respirator if needed

Ability to pass a respirator fit test

Ability to work with suspended loads and heavy lifting

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately

Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies

Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirators etc.

Must be able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire, pass spirometer test and physically wear a respirator where required

Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, spending working hours on your feet, etc.

Must be able to understand all safety related document and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment.

Apply high energy, self motivation and initiative to learn and be trained on various types of equipment and maintenance techniques, to include resin and spray equipment, HVAC, plumbing, etc.

Ability to troubleshoot, rebuild and repair resin and gel equipment.

Daily job duties will be varied and dynamic, requiring high levels of customer service.

Workload will be tracked via daily schedules and assignments requiring responsibility and accountability for quality and timeliness of completion.

Work hours: Typically four (4) days per week at 10 hours per day, 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM, Sunday through Wednesday. Work schedule adjusted as demands require.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent GED

Three – five (3-5) years facility maintenance experience preferred including one year experience repairing pneumatic and fluid pump spray equipment.

Experience with Magnum-Venus internal and external spray systems a plus.

Strong mechanical and electrical background and experience. Additional experience in electrical motor controls and programming a strong plus.

Experience reading blueprints and schematics and building to specifications.

Will be required to be certified in fork lift and high lift (genie boom) operations

Requires high foot travel and working throughout the facility. Lifting overhead within prescribed safety limitations. Working at heights: ladders; rooftops; booms & lifts; work platforms; etc. Working in various manufacturing work environments, and working outside through all possible weather conditions.

Requires ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, powered and manual.

Ability to read measurement devices, including OHM/voltage meters, measuring tapes, calipers, various equipment gauges as required.
