JOB TITLE: Field Welder
Pay: Up to $25.50 an hour based on Welding Experience and Quality of Weld, Also, Daily Per diem pay when traveling.
Job Duration: Full time traveling TIG Welder
Location: Across the United States
- SUMMARY:
- Responsible for performing specialized welding and fabricating duties relating to the custom tank industry. Responsible for Layout and Fabricating metal assemblies and weldments. Using structural welding, forming and various other fabrication processes. Will include being proficient in multiple welding processes, such as: tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, metal inert gas (MIG) welding, Plasma Cutting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Ability to weld the different types of metals used due to application and may consist of the following- stainless steel 308,316,317.2205, Duplex SS, Mild Steel in Pipe and Sheet form
- Welding positions will include, Vertical, Horizontal and Overhead
- Ability to use hand tools Grinders, Flex Shaft, Drills, Plasma Cutter, Chop Saw and Oxyacetylene torch etc.
- Grinding to specified finishes per blueprints
- Proficient in fabrication techniques
- Read tank prints, interpret welding symbols, and complete welding tasks as per blueprint specifications
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations in various units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting, welding, and forming objects and of various welding fluxes and rods.
- Skilled in operating at least some type of equipment like fork trucks, bridge cranes etc.
- Understanding of Safety and Confined space and the use of air monitors and other safety equipment
- Maintain records of time and report each time according to the job number
- Ability to identify and solve problems.
- Housekeeping and Organizational duties will also be required. Maintain a clean work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Education High School Diploma/GED preferred but not required.
- Experience: Entry level welder fabricators are expected to pass relevant technical exams in the field.
- Experience: Experience in tank manufacturing or similar industry is helpful
- Drivers License: Required
- Language Skills: English, Ability to analyze and interpret written instruction. Ability to present and respond to common inquires.
· Mathematical Skills: Ability to provide basic math skills are those that involve making calculations of amounts, sizes, or other measurements. These skills consist of core concepts like addition and subtraction, along with slightly more advanced concepts that build on top of those.
· Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to define problems, analyze, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work and environment are very repetitive.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to intense light, sparks, glare, and fumes. The employee may risk injury from, falls, burns, and cuts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times. Such PPE includes, safety shoes, safety glasses, and hoods with protective lenses, hearing protection, and face shields. Employee may be required to perform duties at heights of up to 80’ with the use of man lifts, scaffolding, etc.
