Overview

Holt CAT is the largest Caterpillar dealer of heavy equipment in the United States and we are looking for an experienced field welder and machinist with an emphasis on heavy construction equipment for our Austin, Texas location.

This position is responsible for providing equipment repair services to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner. Must build rapport with customers through technical expertise and quality service on equipment so that service value is reached.

REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a self-motivated, thoughtful individual with a high energy level who can work well in a field environment and is able to get along well with customers and other employees.

Knowledge of line bore process; required minimum 2 years of line boring experience

Must be capable of performing complex machining and welding repairs correctly

Class B CDL required

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card

Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving history.

Minimum 3 years experience in welding (Stick and MIG)

Knowledge of CNC Milling experience required

Preferred experience – knowledge of line boring

Willing to travel with an occasional overnight stay

Must own tools: basic hand tools, micrometer, 1/2″ drive impact set, welding hood
