Overview
An ideal candidate for this position would spend most of their time writing new programs as well as maintaining our existing programs. Troubleshooting and diagnosing robot faults to find solutions. Opportunity to work with external technicians to resolve major issues. Continuous improvement efforts related to robot operations and efficiency. Working along side and training operators on new and existing programs.
Role & Responsibility
Main responsibilities and details are as follows:
Resolve Manufacturing Problems-Assist in the investigation of manufacturing problems (safety, quality, delivery, cost) and make and implement recommendations to resolve and/or correct such problems. Assist in the investigation of manufacturing processes, systems, equipment and materials in terms of their impact on quality and cost
Maintain Established Procedures & Process Changes-Apply established engineering procedures and programs to establish manufacturing standards and methods for manpower, material and equipment utilization. Process engineering changes on the shop floor along with writing work instructions and training the operators.
Review, recommend and recommend modifications to preliminary engineering designs for the purpose of process, quality and cost. Work with appropriate departments during prototype and pilot builds to determine if product or component meets process and design specifications. If not, investigate and recommend modifications to parts or process which assure compliance and improvement.
Assist with Project Implementation-Project implementation and start up assistance. Assist in the evaluation, justification, design, selection and implementation of machines, tools and equipment that increases quality and reduces cost.
Program & Troubleshoot-Program robotic equipment to improve cycle time and cost as well as for engineering changes. Troubleshoot equipment and programs as required by the operation. Experience programming and troubleshooting Fanuc weld robots is preferred,
Training-Train operators across all shifts on operating equipment associated with changes in process, tools, and the design of the manufacturing process and product.
Job Requirement
- Education Required: HS Diploma
- Experience Required: 3+ years experience programming and troubleshooting issues with weld robots
- Experience with PLC programming is preferred
- Experience troubleshooting and programming Fanuc weld robots is preferred
- Travel Required: Minimal
- Strong applied mechanical skills and a willingness to use them.
- PLC programming skills and ability to work with people.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
- Communication and collaboration skills
