We are currently looking to add a Journeyman Welder field services to our Fort McMurray, AB branch.
Reports to: Foreman, Field Services
Shift: 14×14, 12 hours per shift, rotational between days and nights
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.
Responsibilities
Perform welding on industrial mining equipment
Repair of mine equipment including trucks and shovels
Maintenance, repair, service and inspection of the mining equipment
Proficiency in all position use of: GMAW, FCAW, SMAW; all sizes of weld wire
Maintain company quality standards
Reading and interpretation of blueprints
Proficient in the use of oxy/fuel cutting equipment, electric welding machines
Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment
Ensuring the safety of both you and co-workers
Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
Certified Journeyperson Welder
2 to 4 years welding experience.
Must hold a strong standard for safety and quality.
Previous experience with P&H and Joy products is an asset.
Heat treatment experience, as well as history of welding with 1/16 or 3/32 wire.
Strong attention to detail and able to work within the framework of multiple deadlines.
Good organizational and planning skills.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other craft and apprentices within the field environment.
Proficient in the safe and efficient use of welding tools, hand tools, power tools and measurement tools.
Able to meet all physical requirements.
Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft).
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
Must have no restrictions for access to any mine site
