A&H Steel Vancouver is a new and fast-moving company in the Maple Ridge Area. A&H Steel has been an Edmonton-based, family owned rebar business since 1970, and we have recently expanded into Vancouver. POSITION SUMMARY:

The General Labourer will perform a variety of material handling duties to assist with production and shipping/receiving requirements. Completing these duties with a focus on safety and quality are critical in this position.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Assist rebar benderman and shear operators.
  • Support Equipment Operators to produce rebar pieces that are accurate to the Bar Lists provided.
  • Clear sheared materials from storage racks, supply stock length rebar for cutting operations, receive and position steel bundles on stock shear racks.
  • Help load trailers with completed reinforcing steel materials.
  • Scan stock and outbound reinforcing steel.
  • Ensure all employees and visitors adhere to safe work procedures for the equipment being operated.
  • Help with shop housekeeping in order to perform work safely and efficiently.
  • Help ensure work is completed as scheduled.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience working with rebar is considered an asset.
  • Position will require exposure to heat, cold, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration and industrial manufacturing noise.
  • Forklift and gantry crane experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds, and to stand 8 – 10 hours.
  • Must be available to work full-time (Monday – Friday)

Compensation and Benefits
A&H Steel Vancouver provides competitive wages starting at $23/hour, depending on experience and the role you are being selected for. Salary: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
