Description: Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a opening to join our Operations organization.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate must demonstrate high level critical thinking skills and aptitude for solving complex problems while demanding integrity, sense of urgency, accountability and attention to detail. Successful foundational skills include leadership, exceptional verbal and written communication ability, working independently and a desire to continuously improve processes while keeping safety paramount. Understanding of 5S implementation, Lean Manufacturing, and 8 Forms of Waste is desired.
CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Operate Sciaky low voltage Electron Beam Welding (EBW) equipment to repeat pre-established weld schedules.
§ Operate Sciaky low voltage Electron Beam Welding (EBW) equipment to develop new weld schedules based on qualification requirements provided on an application-by-application basis.
SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interpret drawings and applicable technical data used in EBW operations.
Perform layout, set-up and weld on a variety of aircraft engine component parts and assemblies on EB weld machine, according to specified parameters.
Setup hardware for the EB welding process per the weld parameter and planning instructions, which includes loading and unloading, securing, establishing levelness and concentricity of part and setting the EB gun-to-work distance. Use established specifications to obtain highest quality weld.
Change tooling set-ups from one operation or job to another.
Use calibrated instruments and tooling to perform critical measurements.
Operate machine controls to perform EB weld operations on any weldable material, as required.
Operate all related electron beam welding machine, precision measuring instruments and equipment necessary for set ups, adjustments, welding and preparation for lab testing.
Get certified by successfully welding test plates.
Follow Welding Parameters and make necessary adjustments to welding equipment to ensure satisfactory welds.
Be able to perform a basic interpretation of X-ray (RT) indications to troubleshoot possible post-weld problems to correct deficiencies.
Be able to perform a basic interpretation of FPI indications to troubleshoot possible post-weld problems to correct deficiencies.
Must be able to pass welding skills demonstration.
Must be able to certify within 30 days after placement and complete timely periodic certification thereafter
Previously held weld certification(s) in: corrosive resistant and heat resistant ferrous alloys, nickel base alloys, cobalt-base alloys, aluminum alloys, and titanium alloys.
Produce engine airframe components within airworthiness standards.
Install fabricated details onto assemblies & sub-assemblies and inspect for proper fit prior to welding.
May be required to perform other duties as company workload dictates.
Qualifications
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Five years of proven experience working with aerospace super alloys including Waspaloy, Inconel 718, René 41, Titanium, etc.
Knowledge of metal fabrication, equipment operations and aircraft engine repair processes and principles. Weld experience in on aircraft components.
Ability to perform visual inspections.
Understanding of aviation terms and working knowledge of applicable technical publications.
Experience in AS9100 environment.
