This is the perfect position for someone looking to learn MANY TRADES and Skills. TopHand Services is owned and operated by a Mechanical Engineer with over 30 years of experience. As a Shop Hand, you will perform general duties in the steel fabrication shop. Duties include loading and offloading plate, operating machines (forklift, crane, etc), basic hand tools, structural welding, and assisting operators. Housekeeping and material handling are also components of this position. We are looking for individuals that want to learn more and move up in the company – not remain as shop hand long term.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle Materials – within the shop and outdoors
- Perform Housekeeping Duties – Keep shop area clean and organized.
- Operate Basic Hand and Power Tools. i.e. wheel sander, drill press, grinder, etc
- Operate Large equipment
- Cutting torches
- Knee Milling Machine
- Structural Welding: MIG, TIG, and Stick.
- Take responsibility for organizing and maintaining orders
- Jib Hoist
- Vacuum Lift
- Forklift
- Tractor
- Hydraulic Press
- Perform work safely and follow work procedures
- Perform any other General Tasks as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Job requirements:
- Steel toed boots
- Availability to work full time and overtime with occasional weekends
- Must be punctual and possess a strong work ethic
- Must pass mechanical aptitude test
- Must pass drug and alcohol test
- Must have reliable vehicle
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 – $15.00 per hour
