Overview

Reporting directly to the Retrofit Field Supervisor, the Field Pipefitter/Welder includes, but is not limited to, assisting foremen with the fabrication and installation of process and utility pipe that meets ABSA and Enerflex, Ltd. standards. Mount and align industrial machinery, vessels and piping systems and complete warranty repairs. Operating a field service truck, the individual will have a continual focus on safety, team work and customer satisfaction when performing the duties of the position. You must also have experience producing quality work with attention to detail to meet and exceed customer’s needs.

You must be able to work effectively within a multi-stakeholder environment and seek to be collaborative on all fronts.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

This role will offer the right candidate variety in their daily work life, development opportunities and the chance to add value to Retrofit projects. We require a candidate with strong communication skills, matched with sound technical, problem solving and decision-making abilities. Your ability to ensure project deliverables are accurate, complete and timely while remaining customer focused, will enable you to deliver the results you need to be successful in this role.

Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings.

Fit and install butt-weld and threaded pipe spools according to drawings.

Clamping and structural support of pipe systems.

Install pressure vessels and piping systems.

Assist Installation of new packages.

Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, tanks, engines, motor, compressor, coolers and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.

Test systems for leaks using testing equipment.

Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes and jacks to position machinery and parts during the installation and set-up of machinery.

Maintain and develop positive professional relationships with existing and potential customers.

Qualifications

Must possess a valid Alberta Journeymen Certificate with Interprovincial Red Seal in Welding or Pipefitting.

Possess excellent communication, organizational and people skills.

Able to work collaboratively with variety of Tradesmen.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Work well with others in a team atmosphere.

Minimum 3 years directly related field service work experience.

Tickets in WHMIS, TDG, H2S Alive are assets.

Valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to drive long distances.
