Our Advanced Bending Technologies facility in Calgary, Alberta, is looking for an experienced and energetic Welder/Quality Control Inspector to join our Contract Manufacturing Department.
The Welder / Quality Control Inspector is responsible for welding or pressure piping or pressure vessels in accordance to applicable codes and standards. The position is also responsible for providing Quality Control assistance to the Quality Manager. The Welder/ Quality Control Inspector requires an individual who is comfortable interacting with front line staff, peers, and plant management. It is a fast-paced environment requiring one to multi-task while performing the duties of the job. The Production Supervisor must set an example by working in a safe manner, following all Health and Safety policies and procedures, and using proper PPE.
Essential functions for this role are:
Welding of pressure piping and pressure retaining components
Perform visual inspection of shop welds from other welders
Assist in maintaining quality documentation
Team Coordination: Coordinate the team and ensure they are applying all policies and procedures
Communicate to the department Production Manager if equipment is not operating properly.
Perform work in a safe manner by following all safety rules and practices
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE): steel toed footwear, safety glass, face mask, etc.
Report any unsafe work practices or dangerous work habits
Monitor work area by checking for trip hazards, unsafe or faulty equipment and/or any unsafe conditions.
