Pipefitter/Welder – Hunton Services

Hunton Services, a division of the Hunton Group in Houston, TX (www.huntongroup.com), is seeking to hire a Pipefitter/Welder who will be responsible for repairing, renovating, and installing a variety of HVAC equipment. Selected candidate will primarily work in fabrication shop welding and fabricating piping and structural steel assemblies with field support when applicable.

Responsibilities:
Ability to read and understand construction/spool drawings.

Fabricate spool assemblies from drawings.

Ability to weld piping and structural steel.

Ability to braze, solder and groove pipe.

Calculate material measurements to verify specifications.

Follow blueprints to meet product specifications.

Repair/replace/renovate/install: pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, valves, fittings, etc.

Must possess and be proficient in the use of hand tools related to trade.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills Required:
Proficient in Welding (Mig, Tig and Stick weld)

Proficient use of oxy/acetylene torch

Ability and willingness to install refrigeration piping systems

Willingness to support installation of sheet metal duct

Comprehension of mechanical/electrical/blueprint drawings for material lists and installation purposes.

Knowledge of CHW/HHW/Condenser Water piping systems

Strong oral and written communication skills

Education and/or Experience Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent

3-5 years of field and/or shop experience in installation techniques

Welding Certification

Previous experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields.

Familiar with welding tools, equipment, and procedures.
