Career Details
Job Title: Apprentice Pipefitters
Number of Openings: 2
Job Type: Full-Time/Temporary (2+ months)
Minimum Level of Education: Registered Apprentice
Schedule: 10 days on/4 days off or 24 days on/4 days off
Accommodations: Camp or $200 LOA per day worked
Travel: $200.00 per shift rotation
Locations to be Supported: Conklin, AB
Position Summary
We are seeking Apprentice Pipefitters to work on a jobsite near Conklin, AB. The successful candidate will report to the site supervisor.
Other responsibilities include:
· Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on quality.
· Calculating weight of materials and/or spools to ensure proper equipment is used.
· Reading and interpreting client and company-supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications.
· Measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, bending, and assembling and installing piping, valves, and fittings.
· Joining pipe sections/related equipment and securing in position.
· Using testing equipment to check systems for leaks.
· Complying with ONEC’s and client safety policies and procedures.
· Must be receptive to working with short notice for call outs, nights, and overtime upon client request.
· Operating machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
· Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery.
· Assembling machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
Our Ideal Candidate
· Registered Apprentice Certificate.
· Knowledge and experience of industry related safe work practices.
· Previous industrial & Shutdown experience considered an asset.
· CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015 and H2S Alive
· Able to work well in a team environment.
· Organized and self-motivated.
· Must be capable of physical labour.
· Good written and oral communication skills.
· Attention to detail and the ability to meet quality standards.
· Organizational and time management skills.
