Construction Worker Responsibilities
Include:
- Install hangar doors off-site in 1-5 day intervals with a crew
- Assist tradesmen, welders, painters and machine operators in shop production
- Construct hangar doors with attention to safety and detail
- Occasionally use Ironworker, bandsaw, measuring and cutting, press brake
- Occasionally finish doors in finishing booth
- Mig welding manufacturing to blueprinted specifications
- Install metal sheeting and trim
Job brief
We are looking for a competent Installer/Combo Welder to work in and outside of our shop to help manufacture and install our hydraulic hangar doors. We need a motivated, reliable person to be responsible to work with a crew to read blueprints, cut and weld steel, assemble the hangar doors, paint hangar doors, load doors onto a trailer using sky-track, and primarily install the doors (off-site).
Experience in working on building projects and using related equipment is essential. You must have physical strength, endurance and work well with your hands, ability to work outdoors in all conditions. Attention to team-collaboration, following instructions, and safety rules are enforced.
Responsibilities
- Assist tradesmen and machine operators in door production and installation
- Operate a sky-lift, scissor lift, fork-lift, and work on scaffolding
- Unload and carry materials at construction sites
- Use equipment to break old forms and structures
- Weld overhead to specific blueprints
- Prepare and apply construction materials to build structures or fill gaps (e.g hydraulic plumbing, sheet metal trim, simple electrical)
- Overnight Stays (up to 4 nights) while on an install
- Clean out site from debris and discarded material
- General Maintenance and cleaning duties on site and at manufacturing facility
Requirements
- Proven experience as construction worker
- Verifiable Experience in operating welding equipment (weld test upon interview)
- Operate forklift, scissor lift, sky-track
- Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods
- Able to work in a team and follow instructions carefully
- Able to read instructions and blueprints when needed
- Good knowledge of English language (spoken and written)
- Excellent balance and eye-hand coordination
- Pass drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
Pay begins at $18.00/hr with possibility of higher starting based upon experience.
Benefits begin after 90 day review period.
