Job description

We are currently seeking an accountable, proactive and hard-working individual for a steel welding position with proven experience in structural steel welding. You will be responsible for following several standards and must be willing and capable to weld, edit and perform all duties related to working in a steel fabrication environment.

Day to Day tasks include but may not be limited to:

· Welding components in flat, vertical or overhead positions

· Secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using various tools

· Welding of components and assemblies using electric or arc welding equipment

· Cut work pieces using powered and non-powered equipment/tools

· Remove rough spots from work pieces using portable grinder, hand files or scrapers

· Heat, form and dress metal parts using hand held tools and oxy fuel torch’s

· Analyzes drawings and specifications to plan welding operations

· Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts/assemblies

. Work collaboratively alongside others

. Accurately read and use a tape measure to help produce small steel parts required per drawing specification using various powered tools/machines

. Maintain a clean and safe work area

Requirements:

· Education from a recognized welding institute

· Experience of 5 years+ of welding mild steel pipe railing’s and handrail’s.

· Experience of 5 years+ of welding heavy steel

· CWB certified if MIG or flux core welding procedures

· Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of reading and interpreting welding symbols

· Excellent time management skills and ability to multi task / prioritise work

· Valid Canadian Drivers License
