Overview

Reporting to the department foreman, the apprentice welder is an integral part of the ALCO production team. The ideal candidates will hold a valid Alberta welder apprenticeship and possess a valid CWB all position certification and will have a minimum of one-year hands on welding experience.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Reporting to the department foreman, the successful candidate’s duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Welding of Structural Skids, platforms, ladders, and fabricated parts
  • Preparing welds by use of various equipment and hand tools
  • Welding using GMAW, FCAW and SMAW processes
  • Setting up material using overhead cranes, worktables, and various equipment
  • Experience and ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Other tasks as assigned

Working Conditions:

  • ALCO has a large manufacturing facility with other trades present
  • Shift is Monday thru Thursday 6am to 4:30pm, may be required to work Friday weekends when needed
  • Outside/inside work will be required
  • This position may be physically demanding at times
