Overview

Foremost Industries has an immediate opening for a full-time Lead Hand for Small Fab Shop based out of our north facility in Lloydminster, Alberta.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that OH&S regulations and the corporate safety manual are being met
  • Work with Safety to ensure that safe work practices are followed
  • Work with Quality Control to ensure quality requirements are being followed
  • Run weekly safety meetings
  • Organize & plan daily activities in the shop according to priorities and current shop workload
  • Identify and report maintenance items to their Supervisor
  • Look for ways to improve efficiency, heighten quality and improve safety as part of the operation team
  • read & interpret blueprints to ensure parts are correctly made to specification
  • Train, identify and develop employees on all material processing equipment.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience such as supervisor, lead hand, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of various metal working equipment with a desire to optimize and improve
  • Must have goals for continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated, fast learner and ability to work independently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Safety Training an asset but will train as required
