We are currently looking for fifteen full-time welder-fitters with the ability to work at a variety of duties to join our team. This is a full-time year-round position.

Details of this position:
- Permanent, Full time
- 40 hours a week Minimum;
- $26 to $30 per hour
- 15 vacation days/vacation pay 6% on wages earned

Job Duties:
- Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts to meet product specification
- Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- Setting up components for welding according to specifications
- Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
- Competently utilize manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Weld small and large components
- Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
- Able to do the following welding types: custom fabrication, ship building and repair, aerospace precision welding, pressure vessel welding, pipeline construction welding, structural construction welding, or machinery and equipment repair welding
- Choosing the best equipment to weld specific metals
- Identifying issues and hazards
- Operating angle grinders and other tools
- Lining up specific metal components using calipers, rulers, and clamp pieces
- Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
- Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
- Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products
- Install and repair various equipment and components
Job Requirements
- Welding experience is an asset in the following:
- Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
- Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
- Flux core arc welding (FCAW)
- Multipass
- Familiarity with welding tools & procedures
- Ability to handle physical workload ie: Lift weight of Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Productively works with others as a team member as well as independently
- Demonstrate safe work habits and apply safe practices
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
