Overview
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician – Sanitary Welder will oversee the performance, repairs, and maintenance of production machinery and facility maintenance. In addition, will perform sanitary welding on stainless steel piping and fittings in compliance with 3A Sanitary Standards and accepted practices.
A welding test will be performed as part of the interview process.
Key Accountabilities:
Proficiency and knowledge of various welding processes, equipment, and associated drawings.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, various types of drawings, and manuals in the installation, fabrication, and maintenance of process and production equipment and parts.
Maintains and repairs operating equipment, including removal, installation, rebuilding, lubrication, and cleaning of all equipment associated with the production process.
Makes the necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
Troubleshoots machine issues as they arise by inspecting, operating, or testing equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
Performs preventative maintenance tasks for equipment and facility.
Ability to troubleshoot process and production issues and assist operations in the safe and efficient operation of processes and equipment.
Compliance with all established safety processes and practices while providing feedback on any safety processes that require enhancement or development.
Effectively communicate with all levels within the maintenance and operations departments on the status of assigned work, repairs, and projects.
Perform other maintenance related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Position-specific skills:
Installing, fitting, and purging new and existing pipelines.
Fabrication skills for coping and processing according to schematics and blueprints.
Be able to perform routine maintenance of machinery and keep accurate records.
Must be able to weld up to 18 ga stainless steel.
Ability to read blue print / P&ID’s
Ability to work in multi-temperature environments, hot or cool.
Self- motivated individual with strong attention to detail.
Ability to effectively work independently with minimal supervision.
Positive attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to read and write English and communicate in English. Strong work ethic.
Must be a team player, self-motivated, trustworthy and safety minded.
Previous experience in repairing and pressure vessels and testing tanks.
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience.
Education and Experience:
High school or equivalent
Welding certification or ability to pass certification test
3+ years’ experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance
3+ years’ experience in sanitary tube welding / fitting
3+ Years of Stainless Steel tig Welding
Physical Requirements:
Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.
Must be able to move and lift up to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.
Able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, climb, kneel and twist.
