Hard Trade (Welder)

This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance services in the boilermaker, pipefitter, and welder crafts in a safe and effective manner.

We are a growing organization seeking a talented Hard Trade (Welder) to join our team as a pivotal member here at PBF Energy. This role is located at Chalmette Refinery in Chalmette, LA.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Prioritizes safety and adheres to all site policies and procedures when performing assigned job tasks

Performs job duties associated with boilermaker, pipefitting, and welder crafts within an industrial refinery setting

Conducts job tasks on various equipment throughout the refinery (e.g., heat exchangers, furnaces, pressure vessels, piping circuits, etc.) on a daily basis

Performs routine maintenance activities on a daily basis such as installing isolation blinds, fabricating screwed and/or welded piping circuits, etc.

Ensures availability for overtime and/or call-outs after normal scheduled hours and/or on weekends as required

Participates collaboratively in a team environment with peers, supervision, and contracted vendors to achieve organizational goals

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent required

5+ years of experience in the refining, petrochemical, or process related industry required

Possess certifications in Heli-Arc and stick welding processes is required with ability to pass welding test.

Qualified to perform work as a Boilermaker or Pipefitter with NCCER certifications (or equal certifications) is preferred (but not required)

Must be familiar with heat exchangers, furnaces, and pressure vessel maintenance activities

Qualified to perform work as a Pipefitter with NCCER certifications (or equal certifications) required

Must be familiar with pipe fabrication (on both welded and screwed piping systems)

Must have the ability to develop fabrication sketches, read blueprints, and identify necessary Bills of Materials

Must have the ability to install isolation blinds and create pipe flanges as needed

Must be proficient in hydro-testing piping systems

Required to be capable of performing job tasks while working under supplied air conditions and with respirators (as needed)
