Reports To: Pipe Supervisor
Overview
The Apprentice Pipefitter will be responsible for assisting the Journeyman Pipefitter and Welders in spool assembly. Shop experience is an asset.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Gather materials
- Assist Pipefitters and Welders with the measuring, tacking, grinding, cutting and rigging of materials
- Performs all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Active and current Pipefitter apprenticeship through Alberta Industry Training
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to read building specifications and blueprints
- Ability to draw appropriate sketches to communicate details
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license
- Receptive to change – can adapt to changing circumstances.
- Makes suggestions for improvement.
- Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current
Working Conditions
- Job requires ability to work with tools.
- Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs for 50 feet is required.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.)
- Hazards associated with the industry.
