Job description
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The position is to support the Territory Sales Managers, Business Development Managers and Technical Sales Specialists in performing practical demos to qualify our products at end-users and to give local training to our sales-force, distributors’ sales and technical staff. The demo welder demonstrates the benefits of and qualifies our products at customer premises in order to grow profitable sales. In addition to performing successful demos, (s)he influences and convinces the customer to use our products by sharing technical knowledge, identifying areas for cost reductions and productivity improvements – and building strong relationships amongst welders and welding engineers. In addition, the demo welder provides input on our product performance, productivity improvements and customer success stories to support content creation for sales and marketing material.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Testing and Qualification
Demonstrates, validates and qualifies our products at end customers and distributors
Networks and identifies influencers and decision makers amongst welders to get our products approved and qualified
Benchmarks competitive products and processes to highlight the benefits of our product offering
Masters all welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) in terms of optimized parameter settings. Defines and masters the operating window for premium products for focus segments
Tests existing product portfolio to understand the limits of their applications
Provides recommendations on productivity improvements and cost reductions at end-users
Trouble-shoots and solves welding issues at end-users
Builds and consolidates all welding procedures into a single library to increase our expertise and knowledge base of welding applications
Supports claims evaluations and contributes to the content of the 8D reports as required
Support R&D roadmap
Training, Seminare and Marketing Support
Ensures welding equipment is up to date and maintained in the welding lab
Supports the train the Trainer welding programs for VABW welding technicians on manual and robotic/mechanized welding of Best in Class products
Networks and shares application reports and success stories with the region to enlarge mutual competencies
Supports Marketing and Communication to create appropriate sales tools with help of TS/BDM
Supports content creation for welding applications for Webinars
Demonstrates our product portfolio during events and fairs
Knowledge with Partners
Build up a local network with welding experts of the strategic partners and integrators, developing Customer benefits through the creation of Value packages with support from TS/BDM
Qualifications
Completed Technical School
Experience in practical welding (IWS, IWT, IWE), prefer 2+ years
Trainings and Certifications in Welding Formation required
