Overview
Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Temple, TX
Reports To: Maintenance Technician Lead
Primary duties will include:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair factory machinery.
- This is a job for people who excel at working with their hands. Spending most of their day on their feet, mechanical maintenance technicians must have a certain level of strength and mobility to work on commercial machinery.
- Apply preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
- Troubleshoot faulty machinery. Run the machine and keep on eyes and ears peeled for anything unusual.
- Set the highest ethical standards for self and others
- Keep the machines under supervision for functioning at optimal efficiency.
- Document each maintenance and repair session. This allows other mechanical maintenance technicians on different shifts to see what has and hasn’t been done.
- Ability to weld, fabrication skills to repair or build items needed for production.
- Other duties as assigned
This position is not solely a fabricator/welder role. The person selected for this position must be available to work in any capacity from carpentry, plumbing, welding, etc.
Requirements:
- Must have 6 years of experience with facility maintenance
- A diverse mix of both mechanical and electrical skills, including: Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage problems and electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity
- Strong ability to inspect and evaluate all mechanical aspects of the building
- Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
- Interpersonal skills to interact with employees in a pleasant manner
- Must be willing and able to work other shifts, overtime, and weekends, as required
Preferred education:
- High School diploma is preferred, GED required.
- We will consider additional experience in lieu of diploma.
The essential physical & environmental requirements of the position are:
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environment, heat and cold.
- Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Ability to stand prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.
- Ability to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and have color vision.
