Overview
Mission: Perform all required welding and final testing on completed drilling rigs following standards outlined in the
“test book” and within company safety guidelines
The Role
- Receive assembled drilling rig from shop floor
- Check fabrication and assembly for overall appearance
- Work from blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders to complete any remaining assembly,
change over, or modification duties
- Operate rig for all capacity, function and other tests for the particular model
- Responsible for all necessary modifications to machines
- Set pressures and operate machines
- Perform general welding and repair of fabrications
- Make any corrections that may be required
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems; resolve and report to immediate Supervisor
- Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate
Supervisor
- Follow prescribed safety regulations / guidelines
- Perform other duties as required or directed
Occasional, Infrequent
- Train new hires
- Complete appropriate paperwork for rejected parts
- Return leftover parts to Warehouse or stock are

Required to read, write and comprehend English
- Use and comprehend specifications, blueprints, and schematics
