Overview
DUTIES:
· Good working knowledge of SMAW, GMAW & OAW and associated welding equipment and welding techniques. Ability to select material, layout and fabricate to applicable standards and tolerances.
· Good working knowledge of machine tools used in an industrial maintenance operation, i.e. Milling Machine, Drill Press, Lathe, Surface Grinder, Horizontal Band Saw, Chop Saw, etc.
· Ability to use various portable power tools used in an industrial maintenance operation, i.e., drills, grinders, saws, impact drivers, sanders, etc.
· Ability to select and use various hand tools used in the mechanical repair of industrial equipment, i.e. bench tools, measuring tools, pipefitting tools, etc.
· Working knowledge of tools and techniques used in rigging tasks and assist Millwrights in the installation, assembly/disassembly, and relocation of equipment.
· Trained in the use of elevated platform equipment, working from heights and lift truck operation.
· Ability to read an interpret Pneumatic, Hydraulic schematics, equipment blueprints and ability to read and understand instructions and equipment manuals in written English.
· Working with the team to provide relevant input to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment.
· Ability to perform assigned Preventative Maintenance tasks, completing work orders, selecting and requisitioning of spare parts.
· Ability to use computers, digital devices and applications associated with maintenance operations, i.e. smart phone, tablet, MS office, CAD, etc.
· Ability to practice good housekeeping techniques to maintain work areas in clean and tidy condition.
MATERIALS:
Aluminum, various steels, titanium, copper, welding rods, solder, cleaning solvents, glues, PVC & ABS pipe, composite materials, lubricants, hardware, oils, tape
WORKING PROCEDURE:
1. Receive instruction from Supervision.
2. Troubleshoot equipment to diagnose problem encountered in equipment installation, breakdown and repair.
3. Perform work with the use of sketches, schematics, blueprints and specifications.
4. Provide supervision with detailed sketches of work to be performed as required.
5. Perform dismantling, re-assembly and installation work on various equipment.
6. Perform major repairs and installation on electrical equipment.
7. Perform preventive maintenance according to Preventive Maintenance Program.
8. Perform welding and fabricating.
9. Assist in the design and building of special purpose equipment and adapt equipment to ongoing changes in the plant.
10. Maintain records such work orders, spare parts used/re-ordering, and inspection.
11. Keep work area clean and orderly.
12 Observe all applicable safety regulations.
