Trade-Mark Industrial is a multi-trade contracting company with our head office located in Cambridge, Ontario. Due to our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Fabrication Estimator to join our team.
Projects vary from new builds, process modifications, and maintenance projects in the I.C.I. and power sectors.
Job Summary
The Fabrication Estimator will be responsible for the complete life-cycle of the project. From establishing new client relationships and maintaining existing client relations to respond to tenders, bid requests, creating accurate estimates, regulatory requirements, execution, and project close-out. Key focuses will be on safety, quality, budget, scheduling, resource assignment, and change order management.
The candidate should have a focus on long-term growth within our company.
Responsibilities may include:
- Promote a safety first culture
- Prepare detailed labour and material take-offs
- Submitting and reviewing pricing packages to suppliers, distributors & sub-contractors.
- Participating in tender closing activities with duties including: create a lead letter outlining our inclusions / exclusions for a tender, review all bills of material for job closings, final cost preparation and submission of bids
- Communicate with customers and suppliers during the tender period.
- Attend site visits to review site conditions.
- Upon award of contracts, reviewing pricing and assisting with selecting compliant vendors and subcontractors for the purpose of issuing purchase orders, creating a progress draw schedule, applying for regulatory permits, reviewing the project details and effective turn-over to project supervision prior to mobilization.
- Pricing applicable change orders as the project progresses
- Schedule adherence
- Billing and invoice preparation and payment assistance when required.
- Manage material and resources for your projects.
- Attend project meetings and site reviews.
- Sales, customer contact, and follow-up after completion of work.
- Employee and customer retention and relationship building.
- Being on-call and available 24/7 to service customers
- Attend safety, training, sales, strategy and other meetings as required.
- Other duties as warranted.
Recommended Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant fabrication estimating and project coordination experience.
- Licensed welder or mechanical engineering background would be an asset, but not mandatory.
- Good communication and organization skills will be essential.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and project specifications
- G Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
