Job Description
Kent Metal Products Ltd. is a local manufacturer of custom metal products that has been in business for over 50 years.
Currently we are seeking full-time Shop Hand / Production Workers to be based in our South Vancouver, BC facility. Working independently, the successful candidates will use metal fabrication equipment and hand tools to assist with fabrication and/or assembly of various projects.
Work hours are Monday to Friday and day shift is from 7:30am – 4:00pm and evening shift is from 3:00pm to 11:30pm.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- the candidate will learn to operate Hydraulic Shears, Punch Press, Brake Press, Iron Worker, Cold Cut Saw, Horizontal Band Saw and various hand tools
- clean and organize all work and common areas
- assist others with fabrication, assembly and finishing
- packaging and wrapping finished products for shipping
- Other duties as directed by supervisory personnel
Attributes / Experience:
- Be on time and consistent with work hours.
- Attentive to detail to ensure accuracy of work assignments.
- Good work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Work well with others.
- Some experience with metal fabrication equipment and tools and / or a related technical course will be an asset.
- Should not have any lifting restrictions and can lift up to 50 lbs.
- Forklift, First Aid, Welding experience and Class 5 Drivers License assets.
Our location is a short walk from public transit.
Salary: $18.00 to $23.00 /hour commensurate with experience and skills.
