POSITION SUMMARY

Facility Maintenance Forepersons are responsible for providing direction and leadership to their assigned laborers while finding ways to continuously improve the production processes, procedures, and equipment.

PROJECT/POSITION DETAILS

  • MUST be local to the Grande Prairie area, NO LOA PROVIDED

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Steamfitter-pipefitters layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems.
  • Hydro-test and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.
  • Able to red-line update drawings to an as-build condition.
  • Operate 2-5 ton picker trucks, telehandlers, skid steers, and AWPs
  • Participate in daily Toolbox Meetings
  • Participate in safety/incident investigations and reviews
  • Complete Task Hazard Assessments, Drivers Logs, and review Job Site Assessments
  • Manage and maintain client relationships
  • Apply project procedures, work site policies and collective agreement requirements
  • Ensure quality and inspection of installation
  • Complete quality reports and required statistics
  • Inform the Project Managers of any out-of-scope work
  • Move equipment and materials between sites
  • Load and unload construction materials and equipment for transporting to work locations, following applicable safety securement protocols
  • Communicate work progress and safety performance to the Project Managers
  • Maintain all equipment and tools in good and safe working condition and report any findings to the lead hand
  • Manage and perform general housekeeping and daily clean-up of work areas

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Must possess a valid Trade certificate from the appropriate provincial or federal authority

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Must be willing to travel to site
  • Must Possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors

CERTIFICATES REQUIRED

  • Common Safety Orientation (Energy Safety Canada)
  • H2S Alive (Energy Safety Canada)
  • First Aid Lvl C
  • AWP/Fall Protection
  • WHMIS 2015

Salary: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
