The ideal candidate will have welding/fabrication experience. This role will involve restoring stainless steel surfaces to their original condition utilizing MIG welding and grinding. Applying various hardfacing materials with mig and tig. Fabricating assemblies as required. We pride ourselves on a clean working environment and a fun working atmosphere. MIG welding experience is required. TIG welding and/or a mechanical background is an asset.
Essential Functions:
MIG welding stainless and hardfacing in rotating positioners
TIG repair of machined surfaces and castings
Measuring components with jigs and templates
Grinding of welds, profiles and cleanup of hardfacing
Follow welding procedures and shop work orders
Applies thorough product knowledge to ensure quality standards.
Maintains accurate production records and personal welding records.
Performs in-process and final inspection.
In between welding assignments shop work will be assigned
Performs all assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Physical Abilities and Environment:
Capable of working in shop environment with high noise and heat. Lift up to 50# intermittently, climb on machines, work overhead and maneuver within restricted spaces without impacting personal safety and that of others.
Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, walk, bend, reach, crouch, push, pull, grasp, pick and pinch.
Requires visual acuity to evaluate equipment, drawings, reports and other functions.
Able to endure long hours.
Excellent manual dexterity and coordination is required.
Education, Experience and Special Skills Required:
Generally requires knowledge of welding and demonstrated proficiency in performing the duties of a Welder. Welding certification preferred and proficient in welding, reading and interpreting complex drawing and blueprints, and use of measuring instruments and cranes.
Capable of completing additional training and testing to perform new weld procedures. Capable of operating forklift.
