Why Work for Us
Stuart Olson is currently seeking Rig Welders at our client site in Cold Lake, Alberta for an immediate start date. Working 7 on, 7 off, 11.5 hours/day. Preference will be given to local candidates.

Responsibilities
- Adhere to a given WPS.
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
- Perform GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW welds.
- Understand the importance of Consumable Storage and Maintenance.
- Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
- Maintain safe work practices.
- Follow a Step by Step Repair Plan.
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques.
- Secure components together applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Qualifications
- Journeyman ticket
- Valid GTAW (Tig) ticket
- Valid B Pressure ticket
- CSTS 2020
- Valid driver’s license
- Drug and Alcohol testing
Working Conditions
- Working at heights
- Working in a confined space
- Working in and around noise and dust
- Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Must be clean shaven
- Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
