Full Job Description:

Torque Industrial Ltd. is seeking to hire motivated, experienced, safety and quality driven JM Welders and Apprentices to join our company to weld Structural Steel Fabrications by Hand Only.

As part of a team of professional trades personnel, this position involves but not limit to for you to weld/fabricate structural steel, taking particular care to produce clean, polished welds. You would follow blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine material measurements, and take responsibly for fabricating parts used in the assembly processes. You are responsible for the quality of your output, so you must be CWB Certified to ensure weld quality and tolerance.

Duties and Responsibilities are but limited too:

  • Fabricate and manufacture metals parts for later assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, procedures, and practices.
  • Knowledge of materials and strong understanding of metals.
  • Follow blueprint to ensure exact specifications of output.
  • Weld or bolt sections together.
  • Set up and operate heavy-duty metal working machines.
  • Lay out reference points and patterns, construct patterns and templates.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
  • Operate shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts or product.
  • Ability to stand, crouch, kneel, and occasionally life heavy equipment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Active participation in company safety program.
  • Follow safety protocol including wearing of required PPE and understanding and application of safety policies, procedures, and practices.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • CWB Certified in FCAW and SMAW
  • Red Seal Trade Certification is considered an asset but looking for apprentices too.
  • Experienced with common welding tools and procedures, grinding, and blending.
  • Extensive experience with reading and understanding Design Plans, including Architectural, Mechanical, and Structural Drawings.
  • Extensive knowledge of common welding symbols.
  • Experience with and able to demonstrate the ability to work with overhead cranes and unconventional lifts, Including participating in rigging and hoisting operations.
