Compensation: $23.50 – $30.00 CAD per hour, commensurate with experience

We proudly provide all aspects of site preparation for residential and commercial applications. Our services include: road building, septic system design, and installation; drilling and blasting; excavation, hardscape landscaping, barge services, and site servicing. We are also proudly equipped with a complete line of aggregates!

We are seeking a highly motivated Welder to join #teamhawkriver. This position requires various fabrication on: Light Duty Trucks, Heavy Duty Trucks, and Construction Equipment with a concentration on safe practices. This position will also require the successful applicant to perform other mechanical duties as assigned.

Job Duties

  • Inspect, repair, and fabricate units,
  • Inspect for signs of wear and/or damage,
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances,
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting,
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, and streamline work processes,
  • Diagnose defects in equipment and perform repairs,
  • Accurate completion of timecards,
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance,
  • Clean, inspect and perform other maintenance,
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation,
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques,
  • Mechanical repair work as required,
  • Conduct yourself in a professional and mature manner,
  • Other duties as assigned.

Employment Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of Welding/Mechanical experience, preferably in a Construction Industry,
  • Must have a welding license for various welding techniques including but not limited to: ARC, MIG, and aluminum welding
  • Able to design and retrofit plows, harnesses, salter boxes, etc.,
  • Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical,
  • Excellent oral and written skills,
  • Excellent observational skills and strong attention to detail,
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization,
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment,
  • Must be independently motivated,
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team,
  • Must be able to follow safe work procedures,
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
  • CWB Certification is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Various locations including both residential and commercial construction sites,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
  • Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis,
  • Work outdoors in various conditions including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise and cold;
  • Work flexible hours including occasional weekend, overtime and on-call work,
  • Safety equipment will be required, such as: safety boots, hearing protection and safety glasses,
  • Stand, lift, bend, and reach for long periods of time.
