Job description

Position is for a steel fabricator-fitter either intermediate or senior. You will be responsible for following several standards and must be willing and capable to lay-out, fit, fabricate, weld, rework and perform all duties related to working in a steel fabrication environment with particular experience in railings, stairs. You will learn the use of one or more machineries required to aid in fabrication.

Responsibilities:

· Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications using various tools

· Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment

· Utilize and learn the use of CNC equipment to facilitate fabrication

· Cuts work pieces using powered and non-powered equipment/tools

· Welds components in flat, vertical, all position

· Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc

· Fabrication of specialty components such as handrails, guard rails, stairs – (rolled or straight)

· Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations

· Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts

· Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques

Requirements:

· Blueprint reading skills

· Work under pressure

· Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong organizational and planning skills
