Serving Pubnico since 1976, Skipper offers professional welding, machining, hydraulic and fabrication services which include but are not limited to heavy-duty conveyors, rollers, boat shafts, trawl, and grappling style anchors, man overboard rescue ladders, and Transport Canada accepted boat hatches. Above this, we also provide public repair services that cover everything connected to marine industrial, heavy equipment and even recreational vehicles.

YOUR DAY
As the Welder with our crew, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of different vessels, different projects of varying degrees of complexity. You must be keen to apply your trade to meet ahigh standard of quality with each job you undertake. Typical work conducted for our clients include, but is not limited to:
· Complete field service on fishing vessels and/or other equipment
· Problem solving with creative thinking
· Operate flame cutting equipment: oxygen and acetylene
· Perform weld maintenance and repairs to a wide variety of equipment
· Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using process such as:
o Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
o Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
o Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
o Plasma cutting
o Shielded Metal arc Welding (SMAW)
o Oxy-Acetylene Welding (OAW)
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
· Journeyman certificate with 1+ years’ experience preferred
· Proficient in MIG (Push-Pull) welding
· Experience in TIG and stick welding is an asset
· Previous experience in fabricating, boating industry; aluminum and stainless steel fabrications an asset
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

· Strong communication skills (written, verbal on phone and in person)
