Job Title: Industrial Shutdown Ironworker
Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Shutdown Ironworker to join our dynamic team. As an Ironworker, you will be responsible for assembling and installing iron and steel structures, as well as operating heavy machinery for industrial shutdowns. This job requires a high level of technical skills, physical strength, and the ability to work safely in high-stress environments.
Core Competencies and Skills Required:
Technical Expertise: Certified Ironworker (420A or 420B) or Metal Fabricator (Fitter) (437A) with relevant industry experience. Understanding of all tools and equipment utilized in the trade and all related safety practices relative to the trade. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and structural drawings.
Welding Skills: Must possess a 4-position CWB Welding ticket. Experience in welding, cutting, and brazing is mandatory.
Gas Handling: A valid Gas ticket would be considered an asset. Experience in handling gas equipment, cylinders, and related components.
Physical Stamina and Strength: Ability to handle heavy machinery and materials, along with standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
Safety Compliance: Adherence to all safety regulations and guidelines. Experience in wearing and using safety gear, harnesses, helmets, and goggles.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management.
Education: A minimum of a Grade 12 education or equivalency is required.
Responsibilities:
Assemble, install, and repair iron or steel structures.
Conduct regular equipment inspections and maintenance tasks.
Read and interpret structural blueprints.
Operate heavy machinery and tools.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Collaborate with team members to efficiently execute tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Conditions:
The job may require working in a variety of weather conditions, at heights, and on occasion, in confined spaces.
The role involves physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy items and operating machinery.
Safety gear is required at all times during work hours.
