About the position
Main Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Read and interpret blueprints.
Operating spot welder, gasketing machine,
Assemble the parts for weld, mig or tig weld, sub-assembly, weld and paint and/or hanger assembly
Knowledge of chemical application techniques
Selecting and mixing the appropriate paint, perform titrations
Apply high performance protective coatings to metal surfaces, fabricated parts, assemblies and structures.
Paint using one or a combination of manual or machine application, experience using a spray gun
Painting according to the pre-established processes
Tend and operate equipment used to spray or coat products.
Report to the Production Manager/Team Lead
Clean equipment, painting area and perform routine maintenance
Comply with company policies and procedures, especially health and safety rules, use of personal protective equipment and WHMIS.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Powder Coater in a manufacturing setting.
Welding experience preferred and considered an asset
Hands on working knowledge of multi-stage powder painting systems and infrared curing ovens is definite asset.
Ability to work independently, flexible, reliable, ability to troubleshoot
Able to effectively communicate
Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 50 pounds.
