Overview
A person in this position is responsible for the construction and fabrication of final production projects that are designed by the creative design team, such as stages and kiosks ranging from small to large events. Primary responsibilities include reading measurements and specifications from 3D models generated by the creative design team, determining which materials to use, and constructing stage and kiosk projects in the in-house fabrication shop. Project dimensions are only specified in the basic terms in 3D model renderings, and blueprints are rarely used, so a person in this position must know how to construct large projects using limited specifications.
Essential Duties:
- Welding metal materials to project specifications.
- Cutting metal and wood materials.
- Cleaning and prepping material for construction process.
- Finishing the product for final presentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· 5 years of experience in fabrication (metal and wood).
· Knowledge of different material types and what construction techniques.
· Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, such as how to wire outlets.
· Must have mig and tig and stick welding experience.
· Skilled wood working.
· Skilled in critical thinking in order to solve potential problems related to the construction and fabrication of stages and kiosks.
· Ability to read and interpret basic measurements.
· Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions based on 3D modeling specifications.
· Ability to order parts and materials based on project specifications.
· Ability to perform basic math.
· Ability to operate water jet cutting machine.
· Ability to work in a fabrication shop in a safe manner.
· Ability to understand what best materials to use given project specifications.
· Ability to identify potential construction and fabrication problems based on construction specifications ahead of time in order to come up with possible solutions.
