Job Title: Dragline Mechanic and Welder


Background:

Founded in 1975, Mid-State started out as a Machine Shop with 15 employees servicing mostly Phosphate industry. Today, Mid-State employees over 500 people serving the Phosphate, Chemical, Power, Citrus, Sand & Aggregate, and many other industries by offering turnkey solutions including field maintenance, fabrication, dragline repair, machining, pump repair, gearbox repair, and valve repair. Mid-State is equipped with industry experts, 200,000 square foot of shop space, and overhead crane capacity up to 35 tons allowing us to meet all of our clients’ needs.

Essential Duties & Requirements Include:

  • General knowledge of Dragline Mechanics
  • Welding and Torch Cutting
  • Arc Gouging

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Dragline mechanical knowledge or majority industrial mechanical background- Millwright experience a plus to assist with alignment of bull gears, motors and gear box
  • Welding- pass weld test of 2G, 3G and 4G (Mig-flux core)
  • Pass background check
  • Work overtime if required (10+ hour shifts at times)
  • Valid driving license- class A is a plus
  • Extensive standing, walking, climbing, bending and twisting is required
  • Will sometimes be required to work in confined spaces
  • Will sometimes be working at elevated heights
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds


Working Conditions:

  • Work areas include working on concrete, loose gravel, dirt/ mud, heights, confined spaces
  • Standard PPE includes; steel toe boots, long pants, long sleeved shirts, safety glasses and a pair of metatarsal boots for specific sites


Specifics:

  • Location- Bowling Green, Fl
  • Day shift typically 6:am to 4:00pm
  • Night shift and minimal travel required for some projects

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
