metal worker/ Parts Fabrication
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products
- Prefer candidate with GMAW and GTAW experience in aluminum and steel
- Utilize handheld tools such as a hand held screw gun, drill gun, and grinders
- Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tool
- Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods * Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times
- Maintain inventory of manufacturing product and welding consumables
- Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
- Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualification requirements
- Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Specific technical or vocational training or certification along with knowledge of marine construction preferred.
- Work in a team environment and respect all teammates
Physical demands and abilities
- Must have ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods of time in a non climate controlled environment.
- Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
- Knowledge of the Piranha Ironworks machinery and knowledge of the HEM Saw Automatic Band Saw with Ability to also operate a fork-lift.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour
