Overview
Role and Responsibilities
· Interpret blueprints and schematics, and MIG or TIG welded parts as defined in specification sheets
· Position and align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and scales 6”, 12” and 18”
· Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material
· Examine completed work for defects, and measured pieces with straightedges and templates to ensure conformance with specifications; reported nonconforming material to team leader for quality assurance
· Uphold and reinforce standards and procedures outlined in safety manuals and occupational health and safety regulations.
Preferred Skills
v Carrying out gas metal arc welding (GMAW), to manufacture items and components
v Welding or joining metal and other materials into a wide range of structures, using fixtures to create Engine Driven Parts
v Following engineering plans, drawings and instructions
v Operating tools and machinery and welding equipment
v Inspecting and testing welds with precision measuring instruments
v MIG and TIG Welding
v Blueprint and Schematic Interpretation
v Quality Assurance
v Attention to detail
v Knowledge of engineering and technology
v Ability to work with your hands
