We are currently searching for an energetic, motivated Millwright Mechanic to join APOLLO Team!
POSITION SCOPE:
The role of the Maintenance Mechanic/welder includes ensuring that all equipment remains in safe and good working condition. It is also to ensure that preventative maintenance and repairs are performed with a sense of urgency to minimize downtime and documented on all machinery and systems on a regular basis to ensure safe, efficient and consistent production operations and compliance with SOPs and governing legislation.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, fabricate and conduct preventative maintenance with a sense of urgency on processing and packaging equipment with a working knowledge of electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Perform preventative maintenance and regular work orders and account for spare parts inventory and labor and report into the computerized maintenance management system.
- Perform and document preventative maintenance checklists from work orders on processing equipment and systems, which include but are not limited to conveyors, drives, pumps, chains, belts, pulleys, sprockets, control panels, valves, air solenoids, actuators, lubrication and adjustments on all compounding and packaging equipment and systems.
- Maintain/rebuild diaphragm, centrifugal, piston/rotary pumps, gearboxes, unscramblers, inkjet coders, conveyors, labelers, fillers, cappers, torquers, case erectors, tape machines, case coders and associated packaging equipment.
- Maintain and organize the maintenance shop and equipment.
- Maintain a clean working environment in compliance with a GMP facility.
- Ensure work order documentation is completely accurately and reported in a timely manner
- Assist the production lines with change-overs, set-ups, and training of production staff on proper use, cleaning and adjustment of equipment
- Identify and report hazards and comply with all Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, GDP, and GMP policy requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment with a Welding License required; previous fabrication and rebulding experience required; post-secondary education. Knowledge of electronic controls, pneumatics and hydraulics and hands on experience with high speed filling, labeling and packaging machines required; Knowledge of packaging line set up, adjustment and maintenance; Licensed as an industrial millwright, machinist or welding fabrication
