Overview
Job summary: We have an exciting direct hire opportunity for a full-time welding shop foreman with Specialty Machine and Fabrication in Sarnia.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Training all employees on the use of machinery within the shop
- Leading by example as a working foreman with outstanding welding skills
- Overseeing orientation for new employees
- Managing a team of approximately 40 people
- Managing day to day activities within the shop
- Ensuring that all required PPE is always worn while on the job site
- Ensuring all work is verified for conformance to specifications
Location: Sarnia, ON
Position type: Direct hire
Pay: $33.00-$38.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm
Qualifications:
- Expert experience with pressure vessel welding, carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, alloy 400, and brass
- Experience with fork trucks and twenty-five ton overhead cranes
- Knowledge to lay out, fit, and weld carbon steel and alloy components to assemble pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other fabrications
- Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of welding and metallurgy
