Overview

Job purpose

To operate flange and end welder equipment to perform welding operations on fabric according to specification drawings and instructions

Duties and responsibilities

  • Follow all Health & Safety rules and protocols
  • Maintain IFM’s standards of health, safety, hygiene and security in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Follow IFM’s Code of Conduct
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures provided for equipment operation and work processes
  • Operate flange welder to attach a plastic flange onto a variety of filter bags according to specification drawings and instructions
  • Maintain quality standards of workmanship
  • Perform minor adjustments and maintenance on flange welder equipment
  • Adopt and apply 6S lean principles and methods to work areas and processes
  • Use computer to track time and attendance and to enter piece counts
  • Complete other production tasks:
  • Inverting & stuffing
  • Packing flanges
  • Layering
  • Turning
  • Perform any other reasonable duty requested by the Employer or Management team

Qualifications

  • Basic math skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to follow written instructions and read patterns with strong attention to detail
  • Capable of independent and teamwork
  • Previous manufacturing experience is an asset, but not a requirement

Working conditions

  • Fast-paced environment associated with meeting demands and deadlines

Physical requirements

  • Periods of prolonged standing
  • Occasional bending and lifting (30 lbs maximum)
