Overview
General Scope of Work:
Is capable of performing a variety of welding functions. The individual should be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment. To include but not limited to: MIG, TIG, Sub-Arc. A welder is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as supervision deems necessary.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets shop drawings to determine specific welding requirements and/or procedures
- Set up welding machine based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure
- Welds in different position: Jr – 1G, Sr – 6G
- Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards and follow all corresponding rules
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Follow all company rules and policies
- Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
Qualifications:
- Passed a 2G Welding test on ½” plate with MIG and HARDWIRE (at our facility)
- Ability to produce X-Ray quality welds
- Ability to follow instruction given both verbally and written
Experience:
- Welding steel and stainless steel
- Welding tanks, vessels and any large weldments
Mandatory PPE (at all times): Steel Toed Shoes, Hard Hat and Hearing Protection. All other PPE will be per Job Hazard Analysis for task being performed.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift from floor 50 pounds
- Lift overhead 20 pounds
- Lift and hand carry 30 pounds
- Push and Pull 50 pounds
- Elevated Work
- Ability to twist, bend, crawl and kneel
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Work in extreme heat for entire shift
- Stand continuously
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour
